Flyer and cancer survivor Rod is currently learning the skills of hangliding and has taken the challenge to join us on the epic journey accress Australia. Rod and his team at Sutherland Shire “Realy for Life” event has raised over $6 million in the past 8 years where he chairs the committee overseaing the event.

WAYNE ELSTUB

Flyer and cancer survivor Wayne is a cancer surviver and has been flying hang gliders since 1974 with over 1,000 hours in the air. He is keen to use his experience and share the adventure to document the journey with the aim of generating awarenes of the need for continual research into all types of cancers.
OUR STORY IS JUST BEGINNING THE ADVENTURE WILL BE SHARED BY ALL Our journey will start September 1 2018 with 3 hangglider pilots sharing their experiences using only renewable energy to power their hanggliders across Australia. The event will commence at Byron Bay (the most eastern point of Australia) flying across the centre supported by a team of like-minded volunteers
hanggliding across Australia from Byron Bay to Perth in 40 days using only renewable energy

Flying instructor Chris has been flying sice the early 70’s and is joining the team in support of this worthy cause. Chris will be responsible for safe flying practices and will be responsible for take offs and landing procedures daily based in weather and forecast conditions
